The 9th Annual Fulshear Freedom Fest. 4th of July Celebration brought to you by the City of Fulshear, Texas and the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Houston Methodist West Hospital will take place in historic downtown Fulshear on Monday, July 4th from 5:30pm to 9:30pm.
The event will kick-off with a traditional parade at 5:30pm and conclude with The WCA’s Big Bang Fireworks Show. The night’s entertainment will include the very popular SPAZMATICS along with food trucks, vendors, the Fulshear Star stage with live music and many activities for kids.

On April 14, 2016, the Fulshear Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2016 City Council Candidate Forum. It was held at the Irene Stern Center in Fulshear, Texas.
The five candidates for city council have been invited to attend and to participate in the event.
The meeting was sponsored by Commercial State Bank. It was moderated by Mike McGown of Parkway Fellowship Church.
n Thursday, March 24th, 2016, the City of Fulshear held the first of three planned public meetings, which are intended to educate Fulshear voters as to the elements of the proposed ‘Home Rule Charter”.
The issue of whether to adopt a home rule charter will ultimately rest in the hands of the voters at the upcoming election that is scheduled for May 7, 2016.
The meeting was hosted by Fulshear Mayor, Tommy Kuykendall The primary speaker at the meeting was Dr. James Thurmond, Ph. D., a highly esteemed expert on the matter. Dr. Thurmond has acted as city manager for a number of cities in Texas and currently serves as a Professor for the University of Houston. Dr. Thurmond acted as an adviser to the Home Rule Charter commission during their deliberations.
